Music Mission 2008

We are touring again.  For the past 2 years, Sowers Music, NZ has held 2 tours in Asia countries and many of us came back with wonderful experiences and also this coming December, 2008 to Jan 2009, Sowers Music will be traveling to Taiwan, China, Malaysia and Singapore on a music mission.  The estimated cost of the trip is about NZ$3′500 which includes air-tickets and accommodation.  We have limited space as we do not wish to create attention in some countries.

Criteria:

1) Christian of mature spirituality

2) Chinese speaking and know some music would be good…

3) Between 18 to 35

4) Committed to trainings prior to the trips

This July, we had a heart-warming winter in New Zealand where Sowers Music held several meetings with a sister from Taiwan.  Nichoel or He-fang as she is known in the music scene in Taiwan was a well-known singer with 7 albums launched until she suffered depression.  She then left the music scene until 2 years later where she accepted Jesus into her life.  Years later, after the Lord had brought her out of depression through both spiritual and professional help.

Depression is one area that is very much swept under carpet in the church mainly because, we are not trained to deal with it or we are often apt to believe it is only a spiritual issue.  What we fail to realize is that depression is a kind of mental sickness that often requires also the help of professionals.  During the events, Nichole shared in details the symptoms, the healing process, her own testimony where a doctor friend of mine mentioned that she is very thorough in her sharing.  I want to thank God for the many blessings Nichole has brought to us all here in New Zealand and that many came out weeping for prayer, including pastors.  I hope that as we are planning for another trips with Nichole, we will be able to include this in the English churches.

Currently, Nichole is serving actively in the Christian community in Taiwan where she regularly conduct workshops on how to deal with depression, both spiritually and practically.
